Designing the Look for a New Academic Initiative

Branding, Digital, Layout

I collaborated with Glendon Campus, York University, to create a visual identity for the Observatory of Populism in Canada, which provides a non-partisan lens on populism, exploring its forms, causes, and effects. The project brief was to design a distinctive word mark, research brief templates, academic presentation decks, and digital assets that clearly identify the observatory while maintaining political neutrality and adhering to York University’s brand guidelines.

Outcome

The wordmark, brief templates, and presentation decks provide the observatory with a flexible, templated visual system that stays within York University’s brand guidelines. The team uses these materials regularly and is happy with how easy they are to work with and how consistent the results remain.
